Hundredth Floor serves as an information hub for a series of long-term preservation initiatives created by Patric Tengelin. It provides information about the David Tengelin Sourcebook, Voices Preserved, and North Tower 100 projects, their development and completion, and the museums, archives, libraries, and educational institutions that ultimately preserve, catalogue, and steward the completed work.
The name of this site is drawn from The Hundredth Floor, a memorial essay written by Patric Tengelin about his brother, David Tengelin, and the place that became one of the defining chapters of his life.
After arriving in New York in 1999, David built a career that ultimately brought him to the 100th floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The essay reflects on that achievement, the life that was being built there, and the events that forever changed its meaning.
